We stopped just over the Indiana border in a town called Vincennes. It's a nice place with lots of well preserved old buildings. We had lunch at an Amish deli & bakery. It was our first cookie stop of the trip! There seems to be a big Amish population here. Perhaps another reason it reminds us of PA.

Indiana or Illinois?
Indiana looks a lot like Illinois. High gas prices and more traffic lights, but the same rolling hills, dense trees, and the occasional corn field. Many of the houses are made of brick and the towns are looking more and more like Pennsylvania. There is much less distance between towns and it seems like there are even more churches. It seems as though less of these areas have been so visibly impacted by the economy. There are many crossroads with the range of fast food and gas stations. It's been a while, perhaps a whole day, since we saw a Sonic!
